NM WIC Staff Spotlight

Marissa has been working with WIC for 18 years. She started at First Choice as a clerk, and then transferred to Public Health as a WIC clerk. In 2015, she was promoted to an Eligibility Interviewer.  She really enjoys being able to help and educate clients on feeding their kids, starting baby foods with infants, and helping young moms to learn because she was a teenage mom and knows the struggles they are facing. She likes to help with finding the right formula for babies that are struggling and working through issues with clients. She provides great customer service, and does great with kids, helping them to feel comfortable in the lab area. She’s a proud mom of 7 and grandma of 7 little ones. She is learning how to garden and having a great time with this new hobby. She also really enjoys working on her lowriders with her family. She was born and raised in Albuquerque on the Westside and is happy to be working with the clients on the same side of town that she knows so well.
